Jack Criss is TNI’s monthly business columnist. The energetic Mr. Criss has been a radio talk show host, author, entrepreneur, lecturer, publisher of business and lifestyle magazines, husband, father—and manages all of it from Jackson, Mississippi. This month, Jack rebuts the belief that conservatives are really defenders of capitalism.
Roger Donway, TNI senior editor, does double-duty this time out. In his monthly column, Roger distinguishes himself as an unapologetic “Tory Individualist”—as if we couldn’t tell. He also ponders The Future of Conservatism in his review of an anthology bearing that title.
Bradley Doucet is a writer living in Montreal. He has studied philosophy and economics, and he is currently completing a novel whose theme is the pursuit of happiness. Bradley’s review of Joseph Epstein’s Envy marks his (very welcome) debut in the pages of TNI.
Edward B. Driscoll, Jr. has become a frequent contributor here, with recent pieces about the impact of bloggers on the mainstream media and about the impact of personal technology on our lifestyles and culture. Like Stephen Green and James Joyner, two other contributors this month, Ed is also a popular blogger (eddriscoll.com). Check out his review of Jonah Goldberg’s provocative new book Liberal Fascism.
Stephen Green, a TNI contributing editor and well-known blogger (Vodkapundit.com), left a big mark (perhaps “crater” is a better word) in our previous issue with his bruising critique of GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul. Unfazed by the hate mail that profile generated, Steve now turns his blazing guns (and biting wit) on all the other candidates. As a precaution, we’re now dunking all incoming packages under water.
Edward Hudgins is another contributing editor here and is executive director of our publisher, The Atlas Society. Not convinced that Steve Green has yet alienated everyone on the political spectrum, Ed has decided to make sure at least to offend religious conservatives by means of a potent defense of the separation of church and state.
Robert L. Jones and his wife recently celebrated the arrival of a baby girl. That has not deterred our entertainment editor from indulging his addiction: movies. This month he takes a sword to the recent Beowulf. More positively, he pens a fascinating profile of cartoonist Bosch Fawstin, whose anti-Islamist graphic novel is sure to fuel a new cartoon controversy.
James Joyner is a former Army officer and combat veteran of Desert Storm. An expert on national security, James writes about public policy issues at Outside the Beltway.com. Here, he interviews controversial former U.S. defense official and author Jed Babbin and reviews Babbin’s recent book In the Words of Our Enemies.
Genevieve (Gen) LaGreca is author of Noble Vision, a ForeWord Magazine Book-of-the-Year award-winning novel about liberty. Gen holds a master’s in philosophy from Columbia University. Her commentaries have appeared in the Orange County Register, Rocky Mountain News, Front Page Magazine, Real Clear Politics, among others. You can reach Gen at glagreca@wingedvictorypress.com. But first, check out her wonderful inaugural essay here.
